Our Method
Integrated Curriculum Thematics Programme (ICTP)
Integrated Curriculum Thematics Programme (ICTP) is an educational approach that seeks to integrate different subject areas into a unified curriculum based on thematic units or topics. The aim is to provide a more meaningful and engaging learning experience for students by connecting the different subjects they study and showing how they relate to each other in real-life situations.
In an ICTP, teachers collaborate to develop interdisciplinary units that cover multiple subjects, such as math, science, language arts, social studies, and the arts. The units are based on themes that are relevant to students’ lives, such as environmental issues, cultures,
health, and social justice. Students engage in a variety of activities, such as research, projects, discussions, and presentations that help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
The Integrated Curriculum Thematics Programme can be implemented in different grade levels and subject areas, and it provides flexibility for teachers to adapt the curriculum to the needs and interests of their students. The goal is to create a more holistic and meaningful learning experience that prepares students for the challenges of the real world.
Picture Book Programme
A picture book program in kindergarten is a curriculum-based approach that focuses on using picture books as a central tool for teaching and learning. This program is designed to help young children develop critical skills in literacy, language, and social-emotional learning through engaging with picture books.
The program typically includes a carefully selected set of picture books that are chosen for their ability to capture the interest of young children and convey important themes and messages. Teachers use these books as the basis for a range of activities that encourage children to engage with the stories and characters, ask questions, make predictions, and relate the content to their own experiences.
Some common activities that may be included in a picture book program in kindergarten include:
- Read-aloud sessions: Teachers read picture books aloud to the class and engage children in discussions about the story, characters, and themes.
- Story retelling and sequencing: Children are encouraged to retell the story in their own words and sequence the events in order.
- Writing and drawing activities: Children may be asked to write or draw their own stories or create illustrations based on the picture book.
- Role-playing and dramatic play: Children may act out scenes from the picture book or use puppets to retell the story.
Overall, the picture book program in kindergarten is a fun and engaging way to help children develop important literacy and social-emotional skills that will prepare them for future academic success.
